District 55

John Ray's efforts in the state legislature are guided by the needs and priorities of ALL Nashville residents.

The current District 55 is home to multiple historic neighborhoods and active neighborhood organizations, hospitals and medical clinics, locally-owned music venues and recording studios, microbreweries and other small businesses, shopping districts, and five institutions of higher education.

On January 24, 2022, the state legislature adopted HB1035 and on February 8, 2022, this bill became Public Chapter 598. This law completely reshaped District 55. This state house district will now stretch from Belmont-Hillsboro, across 12South and Melrose, through Berry Hill and Woodbine, down I-24E to include many great neighborhoods, such as Paragon Mills, Bakertown, Antioch and parts of Cane Ridge, and reach as far southeast as Hobson Pike. The new District 55 overlaps with state senate districts 19 and 21, currently represented by our friends, Sen. Brenda Gilmore and Sen. Jeff Yarbro.

John Ray is incredibly excited about the opportunity to represent the residents of the new District 55, the most diverse state house district in the entire state of Tennessee.
